So, you want to know a little bit about the man behind the curtain, eh?

My name is Craig Tate, father of two of the greatest kids in the world, and married to the love of my life. Currently living in Plano, Texas, I work during the day time as a Sr. Systems Administrator for a multinational company based overseas. I've been working in IT since about 1996. Currently all work you see on these cases is done out of my garage. Unless the toolset requires it, all cases are manufactured by hand at my house. Now, that is not to say that I dont outsource. Hehehe, I don't have a laser cutter... but I know someone who does! I just found me a great place to work with on waterjet cutting my parts, so if the cut job is too detailed, or has very precise cut requirements... well, I can make it happen!

Tech-Daddy Design has evolved from a passion that I have always had about 2 things; art and technology. Being a frustrated visual artist, but still creatively inclined (1 year of college as a Vocal Performance major), I was searching for a way to combine two sides of my life that were from seemingly seperate sides of the tracks... logic that is a computer system, with an artistic kick that would set it apart from the crowd. I thouht I was crazy when I started thinking about "butchering" a perfectly good computer case in order to shape it into something "better"... well, at least better in *my* eyes. ;)

Each case I produce, I attempt to capture details that are not noticed until a person spends a bit of time looking at the case. I try to capture an essence of the project. Things as boring as cable management can be artfully handled in such a way as to make them non existant, or make them an active part of the mod. Modding is not about hiding everything, it's about hiding what you want... while personalizing your computer to show off what you want it to. Computers have become such an integral portion of our lives, and have wedged themselves into the daily tool set... why not make that "tool" something more personal? something more appealing? Something more... you?

That is what I aim for, putting the personal back into personal computing.
