LUPINE
My second mod, I did is as a tribute and present for my wife. She originally gave me some ideas about a star scape/night sky motif, and as pretty as that souned... I had to do something more! ;) I then came up with the idea of combining her favorite color (purple) with a case centered around a wolf motif. I had a friend post on a forum that pointed me to the work of Nick Deligaris (www.deligaris.com), and specifically to the piece of work he had done that had a mature wolf with a scar running down it's face, over it's eye. It was perfect! I immediately figured out how to get in touch with him, and ask for permission. His wolf, and the moon that I had from a friend, ended up becomming the "night sky", and it would be laser etched into the back side of the clear acrylic, then side lit with white LED's to make the moon and the wolf "spirit" pop out of the acrylic. I then cut the window out of the side of the case, but instead of a standard, flat sided window frame, I cut the bottom to resemble a rocky mountain top, with a wolf howling to the moon that was etched. I also put a "wolf shadow" in the fron 5.25" bays, and performed serious cable management utilizing the excellent spiral cable wraps from www.lizard-tree.com . The purple wraps worked in perfect harmony with the purple of the case, and wrapped over the black power cabling that I had built... it really took the inside to the next level.
